Lake El Salto in Mexico is a bass fishing haven recognised worldwide. The bonus for anglers in this fishing paradise is the size of the fish on offer, in many cases, you\'ll be throwing back fish considered a good size at most other fishing hotspots!

Lake El Sato provides excellent fishing all year round however, the prime time is usually between September through to about June. Weather conditions will dictate whether you venture to this part of the world outside this time but the months of July and August usually provide weather conditions in the extreme and may be uncomfortable for most keen anglers.

Lake El Sato Packages

As with any commercial fishing holiday, there are some sweet packages available to anglers and the benefits on offer are very attractive. For example, short to medium term stays offer not just lodging facilities but a host of other features including fishing guides, boat and Mexican fishing license.

Prices for organised excursions can vary but a three to four night stay could set you back up to $1500 but consider the service you\'ll be getting and the almost guaranteed large fish you\'ll be catching and for a bass fishing enthusiast, an El Sato experience is well worth the investment.

Lake El Salto is Mexico\'s most popular fishing lake. It not only offers great fishing for visitors but it\'s proximity to the magnificent resort of Mazatlan offers alternatives once you\'ve had your fill of fishing.

One Day Packages

Mazatlan is just 50 miles from Lake El Sato and if you are there on vacation with the family and get the itch to fish some freshwater bass then one day packages are available. Cost is about $600 which includes transfer from your hotel to Lake El Sato and return. The day will be fully guided including a boat however, some extras may not be included so check with the tour operator before you book.

Trophy Size Bass

If it\'s trophy size bass you\'re after then Lake El Sato has more than it\'s fair share on offer. In fact, anglers worldwide who have visited this veritable paradise of bass will tell you in no uncertain manner a life of bass fishing isn\'t complete unless you\'ve cast a line into Mexico\'s most visited lake.

Better still, the fish here are extremely aggressive and will strike just about any bait you throw at them so it\'s not just size which will satisfy your fishing appetitie but you\'ll remember the experience simply because you fought and snared a fish who gave you a run for your money! Isn\'t that what fishing is all about.

Bass up to 15-16 pounds are common at Lake El Salto in fact, the only drawback is when you return home to your normal fishing hole and find the fish don\'t seem to be as big. In this case, size definately does matter!
